The meeting was called to order 5:05 PM
MINUTES:
Minutes of Oct. 14, 2003 were accepted.
COMMUNICATIONS: Annual Report is due Friday, Nov. 14.
LIBRARIAN REPORT:
1. Annual Report for the Mansfield Library Board:
The Board accepted the Report as written, but asked that the statement
“The Library Advisory Board regrets the reduction of library hours caused
by the current fiscal crisis and anticipates restoration when the
financial crisis is alleviated.” be written in bold print.
2. Mansfield Public Library's report to the State Library will indicate that
circulation has increased 137% in the last fiscal year, programs have increased
47%. Reference questions also increased by 33%.
3. The Halloween program was a tremendous success with over 200 participants.
4. There were some complaints from patrons about closing the library on Sundays.
L. Bailey says that unless the library budget is increased, there is no other
recourse.
5. L. Bailey presented a new bookmark showing hours, web address and e-mail address.
Old Business: Jung Pao has agreed to become a board member.
New Business:
A motion was made and passed stating that future board meetings will be held
quarterly in January, April, June and October.
The next meeting is planned for January 27, 2004 at 7PM.
Meeting adjourned at 6:15 PM.
