Present: L. Bailey, ex officio; E. BarShalom, E. Chibeau, S.Q. Clark, presiding M. Johnson, R. Pollack, recording; C. Rees, H. Wang
Absent: B. Katz, S. Morytko
The meeting was called to order 7:05 PM
MINUTES: No minutes were read.
COMMUNICATIONS: L. Bailey received notice that she will receive $22.000 from the Gates Foundation State Partnership Grant. Her proposal was successful, and the Library will receive 6 computers, a laser printer, an internal building wiring allowance, 24 port switch and a network accessory kit.
LIBRARIAN REPORT:
A. Quarterly Report
1. For the first time since the construction began, the circulation has increased.
2. The flow of work and service has changed and the staff is still adjusting to the new building.
3. The circulation of children’s books has exceeded adult books.
4. More people are accessing the catalog online.
5. There will be a program about Christmas Carols Friday night The Gingerbread house program was successful.
B. Other News
1. A staff member left and as yet no replacement has been hired.
2. The budget for next year is being prepared and more hours for substitutes and page hours will be asked for.
3. Book Requests for next year will include orders for books in Chinese to keep the collection growing.
