Marriage Licenses
- You must get the license in the Town where the ceremony will be performed, or the town of residence for the bride or groom.
- Both the bride and groom must come in to sign the license.
- The license is good for 65 days from the date it is first applied for.
- Persons under eighteen must have a parent's signature and those under 16 require a parent's signature and the signature of the Judge of Probate of the town of residence.
- The fee for the license is $30.00.
- After the license is returned to the Town Clerk's office by the person
who performs the ceremony, certified copies are $20.00 each. The original
license remains in the Town Hall vault forever.
