Marriage Licenses

You must get the license in the Town where the ceremony will be performed, or the town of residence for the bride or groom.
Both the bride and groom must come in to sign the license.
The license is good for 65 days from the date it is first applied for.
Persons under eighteen must have a parent's signature and those under 16 require a parent's signature and the signature of the Judge of Probate of the town of residence.
The fee for the license is $30.00.
After the license is returned to the Town Clerk's office by the person who performs the ceremony, certified copies are $20.00 each. The original license remains in the Town Hall vault forever.
