Mansfield Advocates for Children

Mansfield Advocates for Children, formerly Mansfield School Readiness Council, is a voluntary group of Mansfield citizens appointed by the Mayor and Town Council to maintain high quality early care and education for young children. We do this by supporting family literacy activities, developing programs and opportunities for teachers of early childcare and education centers and public school teachers to come together to make smoother the transition for children from centers to school.

Mansfield Advocates for Children follows up-to-date research on early care and education and Kindergarten transition issues. We publish a regularly updated directory of all of the licensed early childcare and education centers, home care providers, and before and after school programs in Mansfield; which can be found on this web page and on the Mansfield Town website. A MAC volunteer publishes and updates a calendar of fun events for families in the Mansfield area. Our work is supported by the following grants: William Casper Graustein Memorial Foundation and the National League of Cities: City Challenge for Early Childhood Success.

Mansfield Advocates for Children is made up of many volunteers who represent advocacy groups, and / or individuals who care deeply about the healthy growth and development of young children in Mansfield. MAC meets in the evening every other month.
