Multi-Family Collection Service

Trash and recycling service is franchised in the Town of Mansfield. All owners of multi-family residential property (defined as three units or more) must either sign-up for service through the Town by calling 860.429.3333, self haul to the Mansfield transfer station or leave trash and recycling disposal up to the tenants. The Town offers multi-family owners a direct incentive to promote recycling. There are two types of multi-family collection service – dumpster service and individual can/bag service.

Bulky waste is not collected through town service.

Dumpster Service

Collection service is charged by the size and numbers of trash dumpsters. Recyclables are collected in separate 95 gallon containers, provided by and property of the Town of Mansfield. The more residents recycle, the lower their trash bill. The cost for collecting recyclables is built into the refuse fee.

The rates are as follows:

• 1 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER: $ 72.50/month

  Providing & emptying once a week a 1 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

• 2 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER: $ 96.00/month

  Providing & emptying once a week a 2 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

• 3 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER: $ 141.00/month

  Providing & emptying once a week a 3 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

• 4 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER: $ 181.50/month

  Providing & emptying once a week a 4 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

• 6 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER: $ 255.50/month

  Providing & emptying once a week a 6 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

• 6 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER (TWICE A WEEK): $ 478.50/month

  Providing & emptying twice a week a 6 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

• 8 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER: $ 329.50/month

  Providing & emptying once a week a 8 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

• 10 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER: $ 419.00/month

  Providing & emptying once a week a 10 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

• 8 CUBIC YARD CONTAINER (twice a week): $616.00

  Providing & emptying twice a week an 8 cubic yard covered refuse container along with recycling pick up of items in centralized recycling containers.

Can/Bag Service

Collection service is charged by the size and number of trash bags or cans selected. Choose from one of the two service levels. Collection for both trash and recyclables is once per week. Pick-up of unlimited recyclables is included in the refuse fee. Billing is sent out quarterly.

• MINI SERVICE: $ 14.00/month

  Weekly collection of one 20 gallon trash can or one 30 gallon trash bag per dwelling unit.

• CAN SERVICE: $ 18.25/month

  Weekly collection of one 35 gallon trash can or two 30 gallon trash bags per dwelling unit
