Motor Vehicle Towing Hearings

You may contest the towing of an abandoned, unregistered, or improperly parked vehicle by the police. The hearing must be requested with the town from which the vehicle was towed.

Neither the Town nor the Department of Motor Vehicles has jurisdiction over vehicles towed from private property.

To request a hearing, please download and fill out a Request for Hearing to Contest Vehicle Towing (pdf format). The request must be made within 10 (ten) days from the mailing date of your written notice of the tow.
