BLANCHE ŞERBAN: NOTES   2009

                                Self-portraits

“What do you paint?” is usually the question I am asked when I say that I am a fine arts painter. Well, I paint “living beings”: people, cityscapes, landscapes, seascapes. The vitality of the world inspires me, and explodes in the colors of my paintings.

My journey in art is marked by a fascination with the vitality of the creation. The making of the world is not a finished process; it is happening still, it is happening right now. You can feel the pulse of life in trees, and houses, and people. The world is still in creation, and it is full of possibilities and freedom.
