Stone Mill Road Bridge

The preliminary design for the replacement of the Stone Mill Road bridge was completed in the Fall of 2007 and a public information meeting held at the October 22, 2007 Town Council meeting. The final design effort will continue into 2008 at which time additional public review will take place. The cost of the proposed precast twin-arch bridge is estimated to be $1.41 million, with 80% of the cost paid for by a federal bridge grant. The design report is available in the Town’s Engineering office. Construction is scheduled to begin sometime late in 2008.


Laurel Lane Bridge

March 2008

The preliminary design for the replacement of the Laurel Lane bridge was also completed in the Fall of 2007 and a public information meeting held on October 22nd. The final design work is underway and is expected to conclude in 2008. The cost of this proposed steel girder bridge with a concrete deck is estimated to be $1.06 million, with 80% paid for by a federal bridge grant. The design report is also available in the Town’s Engineering office. Construction of this bridge is planned for 2009 or 2010.
