89/195 intersection A letter/report was received from the DOT indicating that it will not place additional signs or warning devices at this intersection. Hultgren will forward copies to Moran and McLaughlin and note that the Church could put its own sign up on its driveway to Route 89 as long as it meets zoning regs.
32/275 advance green request still pending at DOT
Pedestrian awareness campaign Hultgren is attending UConns Pedestrian Safety Committee meetings. This committee is planning a publicity campaign that the Town should be able to coordinate with.
Centerline road striping nothing new to report (no funds for restriping are available at this time).
Streetlight request, 125 Moulton Road several members had reviewed this location. It was the consensus of the members that this location does not meet the criteria for a Town funded street light. Hultgren will inform the requestor (Marwood).
Storrs Center STC submitted plans these were briefly reviewed and will be available in the Engineering office. It was noted that some of the details for the curbs on the mountable islands were changed from what the Authority understood had been agreed upon (2 inch curb reveal vs. 1-1/2 inch reveal), but this will be dealt with in the actual design process.
Clover Mill Road bus stop WRTD reports that pulling onto 195 from Clover Mill Road (northbound) is a problem and alternative northbound stop locations are being analyzed. No objections were voiced the DOT will be have to approve it. Paving funds are limited, so a gravel pull-off will be requested.
2009 DOT Transportation Plan summary for information only. Hultgren will contact DOT to point out that the Storrs Road (Lieberman) earmark project was not listed in the plan.
Request for horse crossing signs on Gurleyville Road 2 signs were approved westbound and eastbound on Gurleyville Road. Hultgren will also forward their request for radar to the Resident State Troopers office.
Sign removals, Route 44 bikeway Several intersection warning signs for driveways and stop ahead signs for roadways are proposed to be removed from the bikeway as the sign pollution along this stretch is significant. These were approved by consensus, pending further work on the Birch Road portion of the project.
