2. September 9, 2008 Meeting Minutes
The minutes of September 9,
2008 were passed unanimously.
3. Announcements and Updates

UConn Compost Facility
Mr. Miller updated the committee on the UConn Compost Facility project. Open House to update public on the project
will be November 19 in the
·
Ms. Van Zelm updated the
committee on the Downtown Partnership.
She stated the Festival on the Green and other related activities were a
success. Mayor Patterson stated the
committee did an excellent job of organizing the event. Ms. Van Zelm stated
that they are waiting permits/approvals needed from DEP and Army Corps of
Engineers. Mr. Callahan asked that the
Town communicate the results of the Town Council’s decision about the agreement
with the developer in a timely manner so they DTP has time to prepare
communication to the public about the project.

Assisted/Independent
Living Project
Mr. Hart updated the committee on the project. He stated that potential sites are being
reviewed. Mr. Pappanikou
asked what the water source would be for the project. Mr. Hart stated a community well was being
considered.

CL&P
Interstate Reliability Project
Mr. Hart update the committee on the project. He stated there will be an Open House on
October 22 from 5:30-7:30 at the Community Center. The impact of the project would impact the
Southside of town. The town has no
jurisdiction over the project but can provide comments.

Water/Wastewater Issues
Mr. Hart updated the committee about the

Ms. Elkins updated the committee on the MCCP
activities. She stated the group
discussed Spring Weekend recommendations.

Mr.
Clouette stated the committee is finalizing
membership and will begin reviewing landlord ordinances as a first step.
4. Student Life Committee review of UConn Spring Weekend
The University of Connecticut Board of Trustees Student Life Committee is
holding hearings to get feedback from various stakeholders on Spring
Weekend. (See comments under Mansfield
Community Campus Partnership section)
5. Other Business
None
The meeting adjourned at 5:21pm.
