Minutes of the June 19, 2007 meeting

 

Members present:  Evangeline Abbott, Ken Feathers, Quentin Kessel, Steve Lowrey, Jim Morrow, Vicky Wetherell.

 

  1. Meeting called to order at 7:35.

 

  1. Minutes of the May 15, 2007 meeting were approved on a motion by Morrow/Wetherell.

 

  1. Opportunity for Public Comment:  Donald Shankweiler and Denise Burchsted were in attendance to present theirs and others’ views on the protection of a particular property in Mansfield.  They were informed that OSPC takes property referrals through the Town Manager and that they should contact his office to initiate the process.

 

  1. Old Business:  motion by Wetherell/Feathers to go into executive session at 8:11 for the purposes of discussion of particulars concerning two specific properties.  Motion by Wetherell/Feathers to come out of executive session at 8:28.

 

  1. Recommendations to Town Manager:  none.

 

  1. New Business:  Quentin Kessel reported on Paula Stahl’s (Green Valley Institute) review of Mansfield’s Planning and Zoning development regulation process.  He spoke to the sensibility of the two-stage review and commented that Stahl’s comments echoed Vicky Wetherell’s previously stated observations.  Additionally, Ken Feathers presented a letter sent to all Public Act #490 landowners by a local law firm offering assistance in realizing properties’ full potential.

 

  1. Meeting adjourned at 8:48.
