Minutes of the March 20, 2007 meeting

- Meeting called to order at
7:40.
- Minutes of the February 20,
2007 meeting were approved on a motion by Lowrey/ Feathers.
- Opportunity for Public Comment: none present.
- Old Business: Discussion
concerning the Open Space Initiative included the mailings (and
registration logistics) due to go out to landowners with regard to
upcoming workshops, programs and field trips. Members decided to cancel
the April 17, 2007 OSPC meeting in order to attend the Protecting Family
Farms and Forests Workshop to be held that evening in Council Chambers. A
decision was made to instead hold a working session on April 10, 2007 in
the Community Center Conference Room at 7:30pm. This session will focus
on preparation for the April 17, 24 workshops and the April 28 field trip
to Coney Rock Preserve. Presentations to PZC will also be prepared.
- New Business: PZC
File#750-3 Girard College Development Fund: Upon review of maps, discussion
of comments to be made to PZC included the importance of conservation
easements that result in connections of interior forest tracts and wildlife
corridors, satisfaction of requirements for subdivision regulations and
the driveway approach to the proposed house site.

Files #1256 & 1257 Downtown Partnership/Storrs Center: the committee determined
the need for larger maps in order to better review the possibilities of trail
connections for pedestrian traffic.
