Welcome by R. Mocanu

Call to order at 5:40 p.m.

Minutes of the February meeting were reviewed.

S. Baxter made the following announcements:

  • S. Baxter and K. Grunwald attended the first of three workshops on Financing the Plan. The remaining workshops will be held April 7 and May 5. (9a.m.-3p.m.)

  • Since time for completing our work is short we will need to double up on some meetings.

Minutes were approved. Moved by K. Paulhus, seconded by K. Grunwald

LWG members interested in attending should let Sandy know.

An additional meeting will be held on April 2 from 5-7p.m. in Town Council Chambers.

Strategies

L. Grossman reviewed RBA information on strategies.

Small groups worked on revising strategies using Critical Thinking Questions L. Grossman provided:

  1. Do all strategies provide a general plan of action but avoid specific activities?
  2. Do all Strategies suggest the general form that activities will take? (Communication vs. activities)
  3. Do all strategies clearly show how the results can be achieved?

Small groups developed lists of community partners for each strategy.

Strategies are the most important part of the plan. If they don’t match up with headline indicators, the plan doesn’t work.

Small groups shared their revised strategies with the large group and received feedback. Revised strategies given to L. Grossman for collation.

Sub-strategies

L. Grossman reviewed the definition of a sub-strategy.

Small group work to develop sub-strategies and identify top sub-strategy ideas.

Sub-strategies shared and discussed with the large group. Sub-strategies given to

L. Grossman for collation.
