III. OLD BUSINESS:

A. Update: Assisted/Independent Living Advisory Committee: K. Grunwald gave a brief update on the work of the Assisted/Independent Living Advisory Committee, appointed by the Town Council.

B. Mission/Purpose of the Social Service Advisory Committee: The question was raised regarding what is the relationship of this committee to other advisory committees of the Social Service Dept.? What should the level of interaction be? Is it enough just to get the minutes, or does the involvement need to be more direct? Should this committee provide more direction to the other committees? K. Grunwald will draft procedures for the next meeting to describe a potential oversight function. Perhaps this committee should work on a strategic plan for Social Service advisory committees. This group creates the plan, which is implemented by the other committees.

C. Spring Weekend: K. Grunwald provided an update on activities related to UConn’s Spring Weekend.

D. Committee Goals: FY 07: no discussion.
