Sam and Michelle Shifrin appeared before the Commission hearing. They presented maps and photographs of the proposed restoration of the hydroelectric plant power house, which will be in the same location and of the same size as the original. The exterior will be composed of clapboard siding and a steel, standing-seam roof, probably as was the original before its destruction by a fire and the l938 hurricane. If costs permit, cement blocks with stucco will be used instead of clapboard siding.. The certificate of appropriateness approves of either type of construction with a preference for the cement block/stucco materials. The certificate of appropriateness was unanimously approved.

The minutes of the April ll meeting were approved.
A discussion was held on the work being done to the house owned by Joanne Oliver in the Spring Hill Historic District. David Spencer has been in touch with her regarding the 6 over 6 windows which he has suggested retaining. He has informed her that she needs to come before the Historic District Commission if she effects any changes. Gail Bruhn will send her a letter from the Commission and a copy of the Historic District Commission guidelines.
