The meeting convened at 8:00 p.m.

Members attending: I. Atwood, A. Bacon, G. Bruhn, J. McGarry, J. Nardi, J. Newmyer, D. Spencer

Because no change in materials to be used is contemplated, no certificate of appropriateness is necessary.  G. Bruhn will write to the Building Inspector to that effect.  A letter was written in To Whom It May Concern format in support of the historic preservation HPTAG grant so that it might also be used in other grant applications.

Dr. McMunn suggested that the town should apply to Dr. Mary Dunn of the Connecticut Department of Culture and Tourism to be named a “Certified Local Government” so as to enable it to apply for various available grants.

A discussion regarding revisions to the certificate of apapropriateness ensued.  Jack Nardi will provide the Commission with examples of graphics to accompany the application.

The minutes of the February and April meetings were ap;proved.

Respectfully submitted,

Jody Newmyer

Clerk
