1. Call to Order/Roll Call
Ms. Feathers called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.
2. Meeting Minutes
The minutes of February 11, 2009 were moved, seconded and approved unanimously.
3. Opportunity for the public to address the Committee
No one came forward.
4. MMS Fuel Conversion Project
The bid opening was on February 12, 2009. The contract was awarded to The Nutmeg Companies of Norwich Connecticut for the amount of $3,201,200.
The bid opening for the Gas Line Extension was on February 18, 2009. The contract will be awarded to Langone Pipeline & Utility Contracting of Agawam, MA. The amount of the contract will be $63,872.
Jeff Smith will continue to contact the State in regards to the status of the additional funding for this project.
5. Staff Report
Bill Hammon is in the process of arranging the water sampling testing for Southeast School.
There was discussion of recent site visits to surrounding schools.
6. Next Steps
There are additional site visits planned for schools located in CT and MA.
More discussion of the site visits will take place at the next School Building Committee meeting in June.
Gregory Padick will report back to the committee in regards to the septic study of Southeast School site.
7. Other
Next meeting will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
