MINUTES

Present: Mary Feathers, Anne Willenborg, Elizabeth Paterson, Fred Baruzzi, Matt Hart

Absent: Mark Boyer and Anne Rash

Staff: Allen Corson, Jeff Smith, Jaime Russell

1. Call to Order/Roll Call

Ms. Paterson called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

2. Meeting Minutes

The minutes of December 10, 2008 were moved, seconded and approved unanimously.

3. Opportunity for the public to address the Committee

No one came forward.

4. Fuss & O’Neill re: MMS Fossil Fuel Project

The project has been sent out for re-bid with additional alternates that include:

· 3^rd Floor – eastern side lockers

· Music Center Wing

· Media Wing

· Co-gen

· Air conditioning for cafeteria, faculty area, library area

The bid opening will be February 12, 2009.

Jeff Smith has submitted to the State a request to increase the budget for the project. The Town will need to increase its share as well.

5. Staff Report

a. Site Options

Greg Padick has completed an initial review and has ruled out the Mansfield Middle School property as a possible site. He does see potential in the Southeast School property.

6. Next Steps

Mr. Padick to study the Southeast School site and come to the next meeting for the Committee to question him on the potential of the site.
Mr. Padick to study the Southeast School site with Town Staff and Rick Lawrence.
Request Mr. Lawrence to develop schematic drawings for the site.
Ask Mr. Lawrence for schools that are LEED certified.
Administrators and Committee to tour school sites.

7. Other

· Committee agrees that a date of November 2010 to go to voters is the best time frame.

· Committee agrees that the services of the construction manager, Newfield Construction, needs to be put on hold until there is a project approved by voters and an approved state project.

No meeting has been scheduled at this time.

8. Adjournment

Ms. Paterson adjourned the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
