MINUTES

1. Call to Order/Roll Call

Mr. Hart called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m.

2. Meeting Minutes

The minutes of September 10, 2008 were moved, seconded and approved unanimously.

3. Opportunity for the public to address the Committee

Ms. Feathers reported that two letters had been received regarding the informational meeting, one from Dennison Nash and Sheila Quinn Clark.

4. Fuss & O’Neil re: MMS Fossil Fuel Project

Mr. Callahan reported that a meeting was held previously to this meeting to discuss the bids received for the project. The total project would be approximately $4.5M which is significantly over budget. Options were discussed with Jeff Smith as far as State reimbursement options. Jeff Smith will look into that further. Another option was that the scope of work might be able to be cut back with the possibility of rebidding in January.

5. Architect/Construction Manager’s Report

Mr. Baruzzi commented on the informational meeting and that a list of questions from the public need to be answered so another informational meeting might be needed. Mr. Hart commented that with the economy the way it is, a possibility of pushing the project back even further might be an option. Mr. Hammon reminded staff that if the project is pushed out, the cost is going to increase for repairs also.

6. Construction Manager Services

A detailed discussion including the construction manager was held regarding options and modifications to the project

7. Other

The next School Building Committee meeting will be held November 12, 2008 in Conference Room B at 5:00 p.m., with the MMS Fuel Conversion being held on the same date and location at 4:00 p.m.

8. Adjournment

Mr. Hart and Ms. Feathers adjourned the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
