MINUTES

1. Call to Order/Roll Call
Dr. Schimmel called the meeting to order at 5:07 p.m.
2. Meeting Minutes
The minutes of June 14, 2006 were moved, seconded and approved unanimously.

No one came forward.
4. Educational Consulting Services
Dr. Jokubaitis discussed the 15-20 minute Powerpoint presentation he was going to present to the Town Council and Mansfield Board of Education Board on Monday, September 18, 2006.
Mr. Simpson noted that there were adequate classrooms several years ago. Dr. Jokubaitis noted that now there could be two or three teachers per classroom which does not make for ideal learning and leads to space issues.
Ms. Rash pointed out that now there is all-day kindergarten which also leads for additional space.
Dr. Jokubaitis also noted that the schools were constructed in the 1950’s without libraries, gyms, special education needs or computer labs. All these additions take classrooms off-line.
Again, recommendations are: 1) anything that might be required (i.e. building code, asbestos, etc.), 2) flexible spaces to gain classrooms back; 3) security monitoring systems.
Next issue will be a public informational meeting on October 4th at 7:00 p.m. for all interested parties.

The October 11th meeting has been changed to October 25th.

Mr. Simpson adjourned the meeting at 6:04 p.m.
