Regular Meeting - Tuesday April 22, 2008

I. Recording Attendance: K. Grunwald (staff), J. Sidney, J. Tanner, K.A. Easley (staff), J. Blanshard, C. Colon-Semenza
II. Approval of the Minutes for the Meeting, March 25, 2008: the minutes were approved as written.
a. Review of Beacon Hill Village community model: J. Sidney raised this as a model to consider for “virtual assisted living,” and K. Grunwald provided information on this. Some questions were raised as to whether or not this model could be implemented in Mansfield. K. Grunwald will look into how we can link this into the current assisted living initiative, and possibly conduct a survey of residents.
b. Review of letters to Eastbrook Mall and the Windham Region Transit District: the letters were approved as written and will be sent out on behalf of the committee. It was suggested that we attempt to send them directly to the CEO’s of TJ Maxx and Eastbrook Mall.
c. “Other”
a. Role of the Advisory Committee/draft Mission Statement: a draft mission statement was distributed. J. Sidney asked if there is a statement in existence. W. Gibbs will check his files; J. Sidney suggested checking with Mike Zito.
b. Update – accessibility issues
