Mansfield Advisory Committee on Persons with Disabilities

Regular Meeting - Tuesday, January 23, 2007

2:30 PM - Conference Room C - Audrey P. Beck Building

I. Recording Attendance: Present: K. Grunwald (staff), S. Thompson (staff), Wade Gibbs, Joan Seliger Sidney

II. Approval of the Minutes for the Meeting, Oct. 24, 2006: the minutes were accepted as written.

III. New Business – Discussion focused on the question of accessibility of restroom facilities and existence of accessible automatic door openers in the Public Library. Kevin indicated he would check into this.

Discussion also focused on an update of Assisted Living issues. It was mentioned that the Town has a committee formed to address relevant issues.

IV. Old Business

a. Membership status – Kevin indicated he would contact citizens who have expressed an interest in joining, and advise them to submit a letter of interest to the town’s Committee on Committees.

b. Information – A letter was distributed regarding the

review and recommendations, made by John DeWolf on behalf of MACPD, of the PZC application for Improvement Plans for Gibbs Oil.

c. Information was shared on a disabilities trans-

portation forum held October 25, 2006 at

the Mansfield Senior Center. At that time, attendees were permitted to tour a newly-designed accessible bus.

c. The meeting was adjourned at 3:15 PM.
