WebQuests
Most of you have probably heard of WebQuests, have seen one on the Internet, or have made one yourself. In case you are not sure what one is, how to make them or want to see some examples. I would direct you to the Web Page constructed by the creator of WebQuests, Bernie Dodge. This site has great explanations and examples so I will not go into detail here.
I did want to include WebQuests on my page because I feel that they are great educational tools and often inspire great work from students. They are ideally suited to group work, but group work that has equal roles easily defined. They are a little more time consuming to create than other computer based lessons because you have to search out good sites and then create the instructions online but it is well worth it. Creating a WebQuest also makes it easy to share your lesson with other teachers. There are also many WebQuests that others have made that can be found on the web and used in your classrooms. I urge anyone interested in WebQuests to check out the WebQuest Page by Bernie Dodge.
