Teacher Feature:
The Incredibly Awesome and Cool Fifth Grade Teacher
Mr. Drew Scott Page has enjoyed teaching at Mansfield Middle School since he got out of college. He is currently a fifth grade Language Arts teacher. Mr. Page says he likes teaching at MMS because "the school has more activities for students and allows you the freedom to do more varied things with kids than any other school system" he's heard of.
Mr. Page loves being a teacher. He says that if he was not a teacher, he would be a writer, but is not considering a career change; stating that as long as he likes what he's doing (teaching), he will continue what he's doing. He has been teaching for nine years, and plans to continue for a long time. Mr. Page also says that he likes working with a team of teachers, and sharing his room with Mrs. Proctor's class. He claims that there are a lot of activities that you can do in a double class that you can't do in a single class. So, expanding space and class size also apparently expands possibilities of things to do.
An interesting detail: Mr. Page's favorite color is green. He declares that it's cool because the human eye can see more shades of green then any other color (and that is a fact). When you think of all the shades of green in nature -- thousands of types of leaves, grass, moss, sloth fur, and more, it does become extremely "cool".
As is Mr. Page. We look forward to having him teaching at our school for many more years (as long as he enjoys teaching) and of course (ha ha) he will always enjoy teaching MMS students.
