My Brother’s Room

Once in a dreary place filled with filth and decay,

that seemed to be in a world far away,

there dwelled dust and metal shards astray.

In this bleak landscape there is somehow a way,

that one little boy played all day.

This is the room where my brother stays.

In my brother’s room no one else stays,

for it smells too much like decay.

Banana peels litter the floor by day,

By night the strange grunts shoo everyone away.

However my brother always finds a way,

to open his door and find everything astray.

In the room lie toys, food and wrappers astray,

except for the place where his teddy bear stays.

To reach the creature he makes his way

through the food scraps and decay,

ignoring things that keep even mice away,

to tell the poor brown bear about his day.

However the place is best in the day,

for if by night a visitor were to find the door astray,

the demonic noises would drive them away,

and he’d quickly go back to the place he usually stays.

All who have been here know of the decay,

but some wonder, how did it get that way?

Well, as fate has its way,

it all started on a dark, stormy day,

at a time when the room had no decay,

it was a clean guest room, where nothing was astray.

That afternoon, it became the room where my brother stays.

That’s when the room’s life went astray.

My brother invaded, bringing the room’s cleanliness astray,

throwing toys and food in a most vulgar way.

it no longer looked like when a guest stays,

it was plunged into ruin on that fateful day.

Candy wrappers and toys threw neatness away,

and so the room spiraled into decay.

Today the room sits in decay, keeping everyone far away.

The room’s future was led astray, in a sudden and most brutal way.

This is remarkably like our world to day, this planet where the human race stays.
