Celebration a Sestina

There’s an overwhelming sense of bonding and love

When you get together with you family.

All the talk, talk, talk bubbles around the room as we joyfully gather.

One of my fondest memories was my grandparent’s 50th anniversary party, when we went out for food.

See-

That’s all I want to do. Everyone packed into a limousine and the spreading of love.

What makes me ecstatic about this night out is the thought of our next adventure; food,

the anticipation of being with my family,

and a whole night just to talk.

The one thing I could do with my family all night and day is talk.

As we stepped out of the limo and into the restaurant, the decorations were all I could see.

As soon as I sat down we got up seconds later to gather ‘round a display board with pictures representing love.

Pictures of grandma and grandpa’s wedding and memoirs, created by the family,

Our warm thoughts are interrupted as the sweet aroma of filet minion fills our noses. It’s ready! Food!

Food is what stops our talk.

We the family rushed to the steaming food. This is what we’ve been waiting to see.

The food in such intricate designs that looks really lovely.

I feel grateful for my great family, as everyone is together once more to gather.

Everyone begins to eat their piping hot meals as we gather together.

I begin to devour the tempting food.

Everyone loves their food and soon it becomes the topic of conversation as we begin to talk.

“Look at this! Look at what they put on my filet minion! See!”

And my family soon surrounds me.

My family.

There’s nothing anyone can do to break us apart. We are strong and we will always have time to gather.

We see each other so often but my favorite time with family is when we go out for food.

We always stay in touch and talk

very often. You can tell how much love strengthens our family. That’s the secret ingredient. Love.

I feel so lucky to have a family of love.

Every time we gather, we talk for hours upon hours. Talk.

We don’t have to see food at get-togethers to have a good time. That’s not what is important.
