How students earn their grades

A point system is used to determine grades.  Homework assignments, essays, projects, etc., are given a predetermined number of possible points.  Each assignment is then judged according to a rubric, and points are appropriately awarded. Students also earn points for class participation.   The report card grade is simply a reflection of the number of points earned divided by the number of points assigned.

A word of caution: Late work is seldom accepted.  A zero, even on a minor assignment, can significantly affect a grade. Students are encouraged to hand in all work on time. If extenuating circumstances occur, please feel free to call or e-mail me.
