Harmony

Harmony- The movement of one chord to another.

Chord- two or more notes played at the same time.

Triad- A 3 note chord. Made by stacking two thirds on top of each other.

Interval- The distance between two notes.

I = 1 = tonic which is a major triad

ii = 2 = supertonic which is a minor triad

iii = 3 = mediant which is a minor triad

IV = 4 = subdominant which is a major triad

V = 5 = dominant which is a major triad

vi = 6 = submediant which is a minor triad

vii = 7 = leading tone which is a diminished triad
