Welcome to Mansfield Middle School.  Our school of 600 students, 60 faculty and 40 support staff is located on a quiet country road in Mansfield, just a couple of miles from the University of Connecticut’s main campus.  Mansfield Middle School opened in 1969 as one of the first schools in Connecticut to be designed as a “middle school.”

The middle school years are a time of great changes for children and their families.  We hope that our experience with this passage will help to make it a time of energetic learning and healthy growth for your child.

Our school is organized to support pre-adolescent and early adolescent learners. Our students in Grades 5 through 8 work each year with teams of 3-8 teachers who offer a challenging academic program.  Teaming allows teachers to collaborate with each other and with families to provide the best instruction possible for each student.

As a school we strive to provide a safe and comfortable place for each student to grow and learn.  We want each child here to be a participating member of our school community.  In addition to our academic program, we offer music ensembles, sports programs, an enrichment program, and an extensive after-school activities program.  Everyone is welcome to participate.
