If you presently hold a Connecticut teaching certificate, a copy must be included with your personal statement and resumé. At the time of contract signing, you may be required to present the original copy for verification.

If you do not hold a Connecticut teaching certificate but have applied for one, you must include a copy of the application for certification and all attachments you have made to the application.

Section 10-145f of the Connecticut General Statutes outlines a series of teacher assessments to assure that every prospective teacher has:

  1. essential skills in mathematics, reading, and writing (Praxis I Computer-Based Tests: CBT);
  2. subject knowledge competence (CONNTENT - Praxis II & CONNECT).

Effective January 1, 1995, in order to be certified in Connecticut you must have taken and passed Praxis I - CBT or have received a waiver. Please indicate your status:

The fact that an applicant has been convicted of a crime, standing alone, will not necessarily disqualify an applicant. Rather, the Mansfield Public Schools will consider the following factors: a) the nature of the crime and it’s relationship to the job applied for; b) information concerning rehabilitation; c) the amount of time since the conviction or release from custody.

An applicant is not required to disclose the existence of any arrest, criminal charge or conviction, the records of which have been erased under Connecticut law; criminal records subject to erasure under Connecticut law are records pertaining to a finding of delinquency or that a child was a member of a family with service needs, an adjudication as a youthful offender, a criminal charge that has been dismissed or nolled, a criminal charge for which the person has been found not guilty or a conviction for which the person received an absolute pardon; and that any person whose criminal records have been erased under Connecticut law shall be deemed to have never been arrested within the meaning of Connecticut General Statutes with respect to the proceeding so erased and may so swear under oath.
